It's 2015, and lets fish. To start off, I hope to get B back out on the water when it warms up. I just got my new yak wet last week. I picked up a yak that I've wanted since it came out in October of last year, the Jackson Kayak Kraken, then a good Ebay auction came up for one that I was following for a good cause, and I bid, and nobody else did, so I won it. When I talked to James' father, I knew I did good, and I got the best of the best. Sad story that turned good, to even great. Please make sure you donate your organs, they can save someone else. http://www.ebay.com/itm/221706319286?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT Been on it twice, feels great, but as with fishing, water is too cold still for the migrant fish to show up in our waters, and the winds last sat made me get off the water too quick. I do feel some good mojo with this yak, and that makes me want to go out more to push it to see what I will catch. It's completely awesome to see my new kayak being made, and who made it, and then why it was made. Every time I show that vid to the guys at work, or to anyone, I actually start crying. R.I.P. James Andrew Lebowitz, you did good kid, and your father has done good as well, in your honor.
Got to do a tiny bit of steelhead fishing this winter. Got some nice fish, and my old man picked up a new sled. 20ft alumaweld blackhawk
Went out Sat for opening day. We had one bite on the boat right at around 630. My buddy talked to DEEP on the way out, they said the lake missed one of the stockings. The only stocking it received was done through the ice. Our usual opening day spot still had some ice from what we heard.
Haven't caught shit in a while. I also haven't been going as much and the steel head season has been awful. Hoping to go this Sunday and get some early spring salmon and steelhead.
Went fishing a couple Saturdays ago. We limited on steel head (6) by 11:00am. It was red hot. Pink Salmon is running here now so hoping to load the freezer this friday and saturday.
Got a nice king on Saturday am. Caught it with 10 lb test with 10 lb leader. #2 hook with black yarn and orange corkie. I went 1 for 3 on King's. Missed two. 1 of them got a pile of lines tied up on mine and fought it for a good 20 minutes. Also caught a few pink salmon. I ended up letting all them go except 2. Gave them to a friend that was at the river with me. He punched his ticket for them too.
Yeah, besides the native's closure days, I don't see them shutting it down. Water wasn't that low and the return so far has been on par or better from what I'm hearing.
