Hmm.. I really think they would be thinking about it for competition of other car companies, They need to get started

The problem with the Miata chassis is no one with long legs can drive it. Until they make an interior that can handle someone over 6' it is a no go in my book.

there are ways around it. some of the guys that i autocross with drive spec miatas are over 6 feet tall. they just modify the seats and such.

Actually, Honda competes with more performance vehicles,

There was an acrticle somewhere comparing the S2k with the Boxter...Guess who won, you got it Honda, the s2k outperformed the Boxter and was cheaper. When it came to overall styling and comfort the Boxter won. They said "the s2k's interior was cheap looking and uncomfortable. On a long drive you'd be wishing you paid that extra 10k for the Boxter." But as for daily drivers the Boxter won again, because it's torque comes in the rpm range much[/] sooner than the s2k, has a lower redline making it quieter and smoother. With the s2k the 9k redline made people around you think your crazy for driving around town at such high rpms. Anyway in the end the S2k won comparison.

As for this new miata, it's probably quick but I never liked the exterior styling of the miata (bitch car). I'm also kind of tall and don't fit properly in it.

It is just not worth it to me to have to fuck around with the seat just to fit in the car. Anyone know what this Miata is supposed to cost?

Well that comparison is complete crap. You are taking HONDA's top of the line automobile (aside from NSX since its an Acura) and comparing it to the bottom of the line Porsche...

:werd:

but, i do hate boxters... they dont' even deserve the porsche emblem on them

I actually like the damn thing.. I mean..i way too tall for it and would look goofy as hell but i like it!

I wanna miata...but a turbocharged 1.8 with 178 hp...? :pathetic:

If it's still the same Miata 1.8 with forged internals that came in the Escort GT, that thing will handle 14 psi of boost.

But remember the Top of the line miata now only has 140hp, so a small turbo that is going on the car is adding quite a sufficient amount of power...

meh its still a mazda. the 03 mazdaspeed protege's were a joke, so be will this thing... i mean its light and all, but still.... from factory they will blow, maybe if people started modding them out a little, but thats the thing.... when will they make aftermarket parts for them... in like 2 years, they are just now starting to come out with downpipes and exhaust systems for the protege... i was gonna buy my friend Jasons mazdaspeed, but it sucked and there are a lot faster cars out there for the same price or less.... the only reason i would buy it would be for the handling potential...

yeah. The top Miata is the MX-5 LS which comes with 142 hp, an optional 6 sp and upgraded LS suspension. the turbo they put on it is probably built for driveability, not max hp but there are kits out there to gain 100 some hp for like 3 grand.

They were comparing them becasue of the prices, if you were to go by models categorized in groups like "top of the line", Porsche would win EVERYTIME besides price. Cause if it was like that, then you'd be comparing something like a a GT3 to the s2k or a Civic Dx to the base model Boxter. There wouldn't be a need to compare.
