The problem with the Miata chassis is no one with long legs can drive it. Until they make an interior that can handle someone over 6' it is a no go in my book.

I am going to disagree with you there. I am 6'1", my roommate is 6'3", and my dad is 6'5". I own a miata, and my roommate owns a miata. The only thing I had to do was pull the seat cover off and replace the top layer of foam, with a thinner denser piece of foam, which allows the seat to grab you more, and gives my head clearance from the roll bar. Before the roll bar, I was sitting in it just fine. Also I think the hard top gives about an inch of extra head clearance.

I am actually an former Miata owner, I measure 6'1", and yes it was cramped in their. The newer miatas have a tad more room but not a substantial amount.

I owned a 97, and to be honest is was a fun car, very feminene but fun. The guys who run spec miata do adjust the seats to cater to larger/taller people.

One thing I do know is that even the non reinforced bottom end of the NA miata, it can handle boost very very well, plus the car weighed in at 2220lbs~ for the '97 year.

Plus is RWD!!!!! :)

it doesn't need reinforced...it's the same damn engine as in the 92 Escort GT TPP owns, the only difference is the intake comes in from the cam side instead of the flywheel side. It's all forged, trust me. :)

^^ I know, that is what I was trying to say. I wasn't sure if mazda modified the bottomend on the new turbo miata for longevity reasons, but what I do know is that even the older NA miata blocks - they can handle the psi thrown at them. If i am not mistaken the purple miata that runs high 10's still runs the oem bottomend.

I wanna miata...but a turbocharged 1.8 with 178 hp...? :pathetic:

If it's still the same Miata 1.8 with forged internals that came in the Escort GT, that thing will handle 14 psi of boost.

But remember the Top of the line miata now only has 140hp, so a small turbo that is going on the car is adding quite a sufficient amount of power...

mazda has been pretty miniscule with the power in their turbos. the protoge only made 170. can u say boost controller.

i read in the newest SCC mag that mazda is making i hardtop verson. but it will be limited to 200 units.

love the miata
dont let the numbers fool you.... miatas have always somehow produced impressive performance with low numbers

and that 3 is f00king HOT!!

i love my Mazda powered Ford :)

on a down side...too bad the JRSC doesnt bolt directly to my motor or that would be a mod for project: White Trash :(
