Oil for cone filter?

I noticed my cone air fliter is need of some cleaning. I dont wanna fork out the $$ for a K&N cleaning kit. Is there any other oil i can use for it? Spray or other?

Spend the $10. It lasts forever, and it works incredibly well... That soap stuff is amazing at getting grime and crap out of the filter. I have K&Ns in every vehicle I have save for the CBR, and I only own one kit. Cleaned 6 filters with the same kit and both bottles are still pretty much full.
