i'm very new to this forum.....but i've found alot of value, thoughts and ideas here.
with all that comes the junk too.
i'm also sure that there will be many to find my comments off-base.

i've just noticed that the vast majority of reply posters seem to rip on body kits and such.

this is the Body / Exterior / Interior / Cosmetics forum.
if this crap bothers you, why do you waste your time to read it?

here it is.....FORM VS. FUNCTION

i'm all about function.....but if somebody wants to throw away a few hundred bucks on plastic or fiberglass whatever, i can't see insulting them about it.

none of that crap makes your car fast......but everybody says "get rid of it".

getting rid of it doesnt make it fast either.
if you already spent the money, keep it.

and i applaud all the guys who have fast cars that dont look fast.

ive given myself a realistic goal.

my car must be a daily driver.
my car cant have a bodykit or paint until it runs 13's(on street tires)
but it wont stop me from buying nickle/dime crap to dress it up
(usually interior stuff)

i'm glad pissedoffsol locked up the "im new and i got rice" thread.

the young fella asked for opinions and got them.

but what i dont understand.......whats done is done...and to undo them is not necessarily progress.

and im not defending myself either.
i dont have altezzas or a body kit....but maybe eventually when i hit the 13 mark.
probably by mid summer.

but i figure the motor hardware will have depleated my budget to the point where dress-ups wont be a possibility.

i guess i'm hoping for a kinder-gentler forum.

Body kits generally weigh more than stock components or even JDM components. I just think its pointless to make a car such as the Integra (Gen2 or 3) "look" better when they are already stunning. As far as JDM conversions such as 1 piece headlights (gen 2) or Type R conversion (gen 3) at least it isnt boxy looking and squared off.
