well i finally went to this place saturday night
first let me say... HOLY SHIT!!!
and next ... I am never going back to South Windsor
ok on to the review.....
the track is pretty damn huge as far as go-kart tracks go... 1700ft and a shit load of turns... not like the kidney bean shape 600footer in south windsor... the karts feel at least as fast probably a bit faster than the ones in south windsor... it was somewhat busy the night i went down there... the run group i ended up in had i think 12 people in it and it wasnt crowded on the track at all... very nice...
the track is pretty challenging, laps are in the 40 second range +- , run time is 8 minutes, so you get about 11 laps, (they also have 10 minute tuesdays... if you cant figure out what that means then hit yourself in the head with a hammer untill it makes sence)... they said the slow night is Thursday, so if you are looking for smaller run groups or a lot of runs that would be the night to go... also if you buy several runs you can stay in your kart and go out consecutively... again, very nice...
prices:
normal prices for members are $20, non members are $25 per race
membership fee is $38 for a year... seems a bit steep but you get a bunch of cool shit for that fee...
- Your first race
- A free race anytime during your birthday month
- $5 off all races for a year (greater discounts are available when purchasing multiple races in advance)
- An official On Track Karting t-shirt (a $10 value)
- One head sock (required if using one of our helmets; a $2 value)
- Access to racing leagues and other members-only events
- Streamlined registration for races (without the need to re-sign waivers and re-attend safety briefings) using your official On Track Karting membership card
over all i give it two big thumbs up
now when are we all getting together and going down there??
