open header

this might sound dumb but whatever, is it bad for a motor in any way if it is run open header? my friend insists that it is but i'm not sure Ive never heard that before.

maybe if you run NO header at all. but open header (ie stops at the cat) wont hurt anything. drag cars run open header all the time

My dad used to do that with his cars, they were V8's but still the same kinda thing. He always said to make sure you either cap them after a run or to plug them with a rag or something. This way the cold air didnt rush in and hit the hot valves, supposedly it could bend them.
