If you want a porsche, the 996 or better is where ya have to go. Ive driven a 996, but not a 997. A guy i used to work with works a Park Place and he said the 996 and 997 are COMPLETELY different animals when it comes to driving experience.....although something tells me that both are gonna be outa your price range.

If I want a porsche, the 959 is the one to have.

But I digress. I ain't buyin no Porsche at all at full retail. The 928's drop their values so bad that I can afford a decent one (There aren't many 5 speeds) and the 911s never drop in value. This one is affordable only because of it's salvage title.

I may even end up doing just that. The 89 is significantly different that the earlier models, in suspension, build and materials. Making, say 1973 into a 3.2 930-bodied level 3 Whaletail turbo-look monster would cost just as much as ... Buying one.

Only 930s are 4 speed transmissions.

The only question left is "Subaru 2.5 liter, turbo or Porsche 3.0 turbo?"

argh.

That thing would be KILLER if I was looking for another project.

"Rims do go with the car. They are 17x7 DC rims with 205/40 tires. One tire needs to be replaced, rest have 5000 or so miles on them."

looks like it had a small engine fire. Or he was just cruising down the road and hit a sparked up welder.

It can happen :)
