What is this oring for? It is number #14

Does anyone know what this oring is for?

Is that piece mounted outside the block, i cant tell by the picture? I dont know the purpose of it completely, but my guess would be keep oil from backing into where it is coming from.

O-ring #14 slides onto #12.
#12 is your oil squirter.

yes both Vtec and non use them. If you look at #15 Those are extra squirters that are only in Vtec motors.

Are you biulding an LS? If so let me know, I just fully biult mine from the oil pan up $4300 so far in the biuld. Let me know if you need help or parts.

Non vtecs do not have oil squirters and that is not one. Wherever you got that diagram should tell you what it is #12 would help tell what 14 is. I believe that it is an" oil control orifice".
