out d16z6 in with a d17a2 what do I need?

95 civic engine shot. Need to replace just for daily driver. is a d17a2 ok or too much work? I found one here in atlanta for 300.00 with 26,000 miles.

Should I go for it? or would it just be cheaper to fix my d16? Is my old trans compatible, engine mounts? I know obd is different. what would I need to do? if this is reasonable? Thanks alot

you should be able to find a good d16z6 longblock for $200. it would be the easiest thing to do.

you cant use the D17, it has a COP (coil on plug) setup and cannot be run with the stock ECU or even stock wiring. just find a used D16Z6 or D16Y8 and put that in.

well, i wouldn't say "can't"

you will have to re-wire the entire car

the replacement z6 is the way to go imo
