p06 obd1 cel light

I did the obd2 - obd1 ecu swap in my 98 dx 1.6l d16y7 so i could get rid of my 2nd o2 sensor. Everyone told that a p06 would work. But, it doesn't seem to be the right ecu. The engine light came right on after
we plugged the ecu up. And, the throttle revs back and forth. The car has no pep at all.........it's super sluuuuuuuuuggggiiiissssshhhhh. I don't know what code it is throwing, because it only has the obd2 plug under the dash and the code reader couldn't detect anything.

Would a p28,p30,p72 be a better ecu swap? Why wouldn't the p06 work?

your harness should have a connector / switch to jump for codes. you need to do this, or add one if it is a shitty ones that lacks it. My guess is your harness is fucked.

the has an obd2 port under the driver-side dash. But it didn't read anything..........where would a look for an obd1 jumper?
