Alright guys...I am in need of some help. I have a 96 Del Sol Si and I need a new ECU. Now I have looked at my ECU but it says that it is a P28. However I know my car is an OBD2a car and P28's are OBD1. Everywhere I read says that I should have a P2P in my car witch goes with the D16y8. However my P28 ECU is plugging into my OBD2a harness. Any help would be appreciated. I am trying to get my car to pass these stupid emission test.

The P28 ECU came in OBD1 as well as OBD2a. There's a way to decipher the two, but I'm not sure how.

Also forgot to mention it's common to find a OBD2a P28 ECU in a 96-97 del Sol. I guess Honda didn't want to change much between the del Sol years so they tried to keep everything the same except they made a OBD2a version of the P28 just to adapt to emission standards.

is the ecu plugged directly into the harness, or an obd2/obd1 converion jumper like xenocron or rywire sell?
