i have a 93 coupe dx 5 speed
i was talking to a guy and he told me that any p28 ecu would work on a 5 speed d16z6 is this true??????
wanted to ask u guys before i went along with him
thanks

Well, any ECU will get it to start and run, but not nescessarily well. But no, an auto ECU can't run a manual car.

sure it can.. i ran an auto p30 on my b16 for a while until i got my hondata. there are ways to convert the auto ecu to manual. www.pgmfi.org has some how to's as does my website (link in sig >> click cars and such >> convert auto to 5 spd ecu)

despite what people say, i believe that the fuel maps are identical for the auto and manual ecu's. i have no verification of this as all the base maps I have from hondata are technically 5 speed ones i guess.

oh.. it will throw a code for the automatic lock up solenoid... 19 i think

but just alter that bad boy to not check for that

yes, you can drive a manual car with an auto ecu, you just can't drive an auto car with a manual ecu ;)
