p28 wiring

i just bought swapped a jdm ZC 1.6 SOHC vTEC engine (auto tranny) for my 93 civic DX..
is this similar to the d16z6?
the guy didn't have the ecu for the swapped engine so he left the p06 in there (vtec not plugged in), now i got another guy selling a stock oem p28 auto tranny. is it worth it to wire up the vTEC solenoid? big difference?, im kinda new at this

yeah its worth it if you want to get that extra umph when you get on it.. It all depends on you though. Ive had my crx (with d16z6) like that for a while now cause i didnt know better,and cause the guy gave it to me like that. It runs fine and all but Im looking to buy the right ecu(p28 also) even if i have to buy a jumper harness or whatever. Thanks to these guys at honda-swap like calesta and pissedoffsol i know what to do.
