ive looked at DIY painting valve cover, and in all of them the crinkled look is removed. is there any way to paint the valve cover and retain the crinkled look?

paint over the stock paint or get it powder coated with crinkle paint

I had good luck before with wrinkle paint. My local paint store had it in a can. You spray it on like normal paint, then bake it. The longer it cooks, the more it wrinkles. I top coated it with black high temp paint.

It stinks like a motherfucker for about two weeks, but eventually fades away.
