This is not accounting's job. It's a developers job to know when the card that was submitted should be charged at ship time, not at order time in the cart.

Ya, if you're developing their accounting software.

ecommerce you get an authorization for funds, pass it onto oracle, intuit, or some other system. I've only dealt with store fronts and passing the info. Don't care when or how funds actually transfer.
