So I'm at the liquor store this afternoon picking up some thirst quenchers.

As I'm walking out there's some lady maybe in her 50s with a dead battery in her BMW, and a millennial with a Toyota FJ Cruiser trying to jump start her car.

They are both looking at the jump cables as if they are alien technology.

The millennial is actually on his phone fucking googling how to hook them up and how to jump a car. Literally looking at the phone connecting a clamp, checking the phone hooking up the next. Just step by step checking the phone to find out what to do and when / how to do it.

I actually sat there for a bit watching this whole shit show go down, somewhat amazed that people really don't have a clue how to so seemingly very basic tasks.

The cables are literally color coded to the posts, LOL. They couldn't make this shit any easier.

But then again, running errands today, I saw not one but two cars with license plates taped to their back windows. If people are too car stupid to realize that you can pick up a new set of license plate screws at any AutoZone or Walmart/Meijer, then yeah, jumper cables probably seem intimidating.

I see the plates in the window all the time. I always assume they live in some manor of shit hole and are trying to make it a little harder to steal their plate.

A couple months back I had to google how to jump some fancy ass benz. Came outside to see a buck of idiots all gathered around the car trying to open the hood.
battery in the truck, no clearly marked areas under the hood.
Ended up having to take the cover off the underhood fusebox to hold a positive cable on some connection way in the back, almost under the wiper cowl. it was the stupidest thing i have ever seen.
the whole time this fuckwad is bragging to me about how fast his car is and this and that shit.

fuck off buddy, i just feel bad for you being stuck in the rain, but if this shit starts crackling and fries something i'm OUT!!!

Another fun fact....the battery for the Grand Cherokee is in a recessed well underneath the front passenger seat.

I would have looked him dead in the eye and said "Not now it isn't." and just waited for him to hush before doing anything else.

Yeah, I suppose that could be. Mine I think are just idiots, though. I'm certainly not affluent but the city I live in is known as one of the more affluent areas in Metro Detroit. I see plates taped to the windows on Buick, Lexus, Benz, etc. I suppose maybe they commute to Detroit but they're probably just well-off idiots who will leave that plate taped to the window until they take it in to the dealership for an over-priced oil change and they mount it back in place with a dealer plate frame.
