For a 1.8 with bolt ons....I think it's impressive :shrug2: and it would tear up a lot of cars.
 
13's is not fast,your right.but it is pretty quick for "just a honda" and in dillskates defense,working on engine shit is much easier with the hood off.
 
lol the hoods not on because I just dropped the motor in, literally just threw in the motor mount bolts and took the pic, better pics up next day I get off work, full wire tuck, and its just a stock sohc zc, its going to be a dd guys, and whoever mentioned the front end its just getting a 90-91 usdm crx front end conversion, all I need left is corners for it to be complete, and im not using the ricer hood I picked up, im going to hold off on a hood till I find a oem one, it doesnt really matter till I find one because the car is just sitting in the spare bay in my shop lol and this car is most likely staying d-series powered, if anything I will throw my dohc zc in it later, but regardless its prob going to end up turbocharged on 8-10 lbs with a conservative street tune, should still be relatively quick, as with it just zc powered I see it being pretty much a pepper version of a stock si ef lol this zc was originally carb'd and came with the mechanical fuel pump on the head, ive never seen one before and its pretty neat

The thin line between FAST and NOT FAST must be....? 11's? I mean....I realize such things are merely opinion based but I think any 13 second car would be very fun to drive.
 
I 100% agree, as a street car, dd chassis, any 13 second car is going to be a blast to drive, I mean you have to realize how many domestic sports cars with v8s are running high 14s 15s 16s and are relatively quick cars lol running 13s is deff a fun car to drive
 
15s and 16s? Maybe in the early 90s. Mid-low 13s and under is the norm these days. I'm not saying they're not fun to drive, just saying it's not "fast." And definitely not gonna "kill most fast modern cars."

And anytime you have to say something is ___a___ for a ___b___, it just plain isn't (a) by the normal standards.
 
ok, ok...ill admit that most "performance"oriented vehicles coming out perform pretty decently... and that 13 and 14 second timeslips are becoming more and more the norm, that being said, for a "mild" and "budget" build to keep up with them IS pretty impressive, and if not fast, can be considered at least fun... right?
 
Just to put some light on the subject.....never said FAST. But mid 13's will Kill most fast modern cars. This is my opinion....just like you guys have your own opinion. I'm aware that there are some fast modern cars but Very Few can claim sub 13 second passes in stock trim. And Most modern cars are rolling around in stock trim....no one can deny that. Hell.....I killed a new Camaro Z28 (almost 2 car lengths and he knew he lost real quick) and I'm only high 13's. He was automatic but I made him think twice when he tries to embarrass the next Honda. I made a 350Z look like a fool. I'm out for the reckoning. And I'm gonna get faster so I can make mod'd modern cars looks like fools too.....as I roll on stock meshies.:mullet:

Well said!!! 13's is what im aiming for in the near future... Then later on when boost becomes an option, 12's... We will see...

You're right, you in fact did not go all caps when you said fast the first time, but unless somehow you're saying that a NOT fast car can "kill most fast modern cars" (by hitting mid 13's) then I'm preeeeetty sure you at least implied FAST. Technically said it was even faster than fast! :eek:

I can fully deny that most cars are running around in stock trim. Maybe not in comifornia where the wrong scented air freshener will put you behind bars. Out here I see them modded all the time at cruise-ins, car shows, the track, in the line at Taco Bell. Everywhere.

Also Seeing as how there is NO new Z28 yet, I'm gonna have to call :bs: lol It was probably an RS V6. Which yea, they run high 13s. But they're not even the "fast" model of that car. A 2011 SS will run bottom 13s to high 12s and dip into the 11s with simple bolt ons and DRs. So yea, you may have gotten the jump on somebody, but who doesn't now and then? It's does'nt mean it's gonna KILL most of them out there. A 350Z? Congrats. They're not fast either, 14s, and been around for almost a decade. lmao

I'm not saying your car isn't quick, or peppy :p. Just not that fast by today's standards. I'd hope you'd catch some wins with a completely swapped drivetrain/suspension etc against mostly stock cars weighing in close to double your little hatch. Haha I just don't have to be impressed by it. It's still just "fast... for a Honda."

I completely agree, but theres quite a large pricetag difference between a 13 second honda and any one of those cars

Still, again, 13s isn't hard even on the cheap. 90s S10, junkyard V8/auto, Jegs swap kit, decent tires and you'd probably be knocking on the door of 11s if not in them for FAR less than a K swapped EG hatch. Juuuuust throwing that in the mix.

I disagree with you. Most fast modern cars are not mod'd. Dont have to to be a statistics genius to see that.I would think i wouldnt agree with many of your points of view. You rant has left me thinking you have a hard time gettig along with a variety of people and personalities.

And sorry I didn't claim the right douche bag Camaro. It was an SS not a Z28. V6? Gimme a break.

Yea because the kind of people who go out and buy "fast" cars are definitely not the kind of people to try and make them faster. Whether it be by a simple K&N filter or full on twin turbo build, mods are mods... I get along just fine with people worth getting along with. :shrug2: Man, the kids out there are screwed...

:lol: The other day you were so sure it was a non-existent Z28. Are you so sure it was an SS now? The RS' 300+hp V6s run similar times to you so it is much more likely you caught one of them slipping than a car that normally runs about a second quicker times than you... In stock form. :D
