Polishing Valve Cover! Suggestions...???

So I have a stock d16z6 valve cover that I wanted to polish to make it look real nice almost like chrome or polished aluminum. How would I go about this exactly? I'm sure plenty of you had gone through this, what is the best method. So I start with the wire wheel... then what next.

1. Strip everything off with paint stripper
2. Wash and scrape off
3. 300 grit sanding disc
4. Then 600 grit sanding disc
5. 3M cutting pad to remove the scratches
4. Polshing compound "rouge" (brown block)
5. Polish and buff

Rep points welcome. (click the scale under the name)

Good luck with that. I tried it with my Toyota one, a VERY long and tedious process.

one thing that you should do is buy a new valve cover gasket. The gasket can be damaged when you take the valve cover off for the the first time in a while.
