port and polish

    i want to do a port and polish on my head what do i need besides a dremel and a steady hand ??

    eleventy billion sanding drums.

    Actually, a dremel won't get down far enough. And a die grinder with bigger drums will save you countless hours of work.

    what if i use a fine grinding wheel for the initial grind then the sanding drums for the polish?

    You can't "polish" with drums.. and the aluminum will clog up the grinding wheel. If you can get the flapper wheels, Those work best. Don't remove too much material though.. You really need to read up and know what you are doing. Also know that unless you have a very modified motor, you'll only net like 5hp from a standard port/polish on a honda.

    A flow bench to make sure you dont mess with the flow of one of the runners.

    thats still 5hp more than i had and i have polished things before my uncle had a machine shop i just always polished large things compared to the heads
