So, I may be trading my 1990 Nissan 240SX for an accord. I don't really know a whole lot about Hondas, especially when it comes to engine swaps and the like, so I was hoping to get some advice and maybe some things to look for.

My car - FS/FT: 1990 Nissan 240SX Coupe for sale or trade

A Civic that was offered - FS/FT: 1997 Civic Ex Coupe

The Honda offer came in via email - "ill trade you my h22a accord with about 5k in mods but is extremely reliable.

here are the mods:

* Details:
o Mileage: 136,000 on the body
o Interior Condition: Clean no rips, just minor stuff from original owner
* Mods : custom catback 2.5" exhaust to magnaflow muffler (deep and quiet), headers, and cai
*engine:
jdm h22a blacktop bottom end/type s head
bottom end rebuilt
-eagle rods
-darton sleeves
-type s pistons
-polished and balanced crank
-head gasket replaced w/steel head gasket from nippon racing

head
-type s head (port and polished)
-type s camshafts
-type s valve train

transmission:
has the f22b2 transmission(longer gears great for boost)
ACT street lite flywheel(f22b2)
6 puck ACT clutch

suspension:
dropzone racing coilover kit( full kit)

car was converted to obd1 so i have a p13 ecu tuned by jun with an adapter harness
also has foglights as well"

It seems like a good deal, and I know that people who put that kind of time and money into their car usually take care of them. I just don't really know much about all the extras. If we were talking SR20 swaps, I'd be all over it, I'm just not real familiar with Hondas. I'm going to be doing research, but I'd love to hear some opinions on what this guy's done to his car, as well as thoughts on if this is fair trade, etc.

Thanks!!!

Seems like a pretty decent deal. You mentioned boost. Is the engine built for boost? I assume that it's tuned for N/A at the moment. As far as the transmission goes, longer gears aren't necessarily better for boost. Shorter gears always = best acceleration. If you're concerned about traction problems I'd rather correct that via tires, suspension, traction bars, etc.

Overall though, I think it's a decent deal (assuming everything is in good condition of course)...
