Power Steering Pump whine

    I have a 97 Civic EX - I think it is a D16Y8. The power steering pump whines occaisionally. Any advice on how to repair? Looks like new pumps are a bit pricey from honda.

    the fluis is probly just low

    Or you didn't use HONDA power steering fluid.. and yes there is a difference.

    level is fine, but just bought the car. Will try changing the fluid.

    If that doesn't work, finding a used power steering pump is very easy, and very cheap.
