a friend of mine bought an imported 94 prelude with an h22a im going to let him use my usdm ecu what else dose he need to pass CA smog thanks
 
Umm...hes going to need a HELL of a lot more than that. I'm not sure about hondas, but for Skylines you have to replace:
-all the glass
-both front and rear bumpers
-lots of electronics
-more shit
-total cost: $17,000 to convert through MotorX

Now I know thats for a skyline, but theres a lot of stuff thats not legal on a JDM car. For 1, its right hand drive and thats going to make insurance high as hell. There are lots of safety fetures as well (like glass and bumpers) that need to be replaced also to meet US collision standards.
 
Did he swap the engine into his car, or is the car a complete car import?

If it is a complete import, I would guess he would need all of the smog equipment, and a good cat, and the ECU. If it was just a motor swap, the Original Equipment and the ECU might do it.
