restore=tons of mula, hard to find parts, time spent that could have been used for normal life....

Fun=slapping in something that fits or slightly fits that will still take money, time, and the use of some imagination.

Use(Just getting it running to drive)= rush job that overlooks other problems that will be problems that will happen to get taken care of on the next rebuild, instant sale to fund something else, kick the shit out of gas prices to get you to work.

That's in great shape. I'd suggest making it run and drive so you can enjoy it, then spruce it up as you go. Try not to bite off more than you can chew...

Or swap in a bike engine.

yeah it looks like my 1098cc would fit with imagination of cutting away some stock metal and welding some new.

here is my 1098cc Mini engine next to my ZC D16A6. The 1098cc and tranny is a little bit smaller then the whole D16 engine.

Will get you measurements tomorrow :D

Think about it, the CBX was an inline-6. Add a transmission to that. It'll be way too big. There isn't much room in a 600's engine bay. You might be able to fit a small bike engine, but never something as big as a liter bike.

Now figure out how to drive two wheels. Yes, the 600 was chain drive, but, imagine putting an engine inside that small space, without overdriving the transmission.

OP: although, looking at it, the v4 from the intruder/vfr800 look pretty tasty.

    EDIT:
The cbx only made a little over 100hp if memory serves. Why waste all that weight and only get 100hp? Many inline 4's make that much. I'd look at aircooled inline 4's, since that removes the whole water-cooled aspect, and thus the weight of the coolant.

what about a KZ900? it's air cooled, classic, can be bored and stroked to 1.5L, they are fast as hell and sound fantastic.
