No, seriously - Sell that f*cking car. I've been made lots of fun of for doing "obscure" buildups. I've been laughed at for building the CRX to where it is today, I've been laughed at for restoring a 1981 Celica. I've been laughed at for tracking a 1982 Supra. But in the end, my cars were a success. Your car isn't turning out that way, And for you to continue beating your head against a wall isn't going to make you feel any better when, that is IF the result is positive.

Under best circumstances, this car when it's done will be a giggle car. It's like putting a V8 in a Chevette. Yeah, people do it, but the result is still pure comedy. Under what your efforts have shown so far, this car is either so anemic from the get-go that you've taken over 100 hours under the hood, and countless dollars into making it what it is today - a Ford Escort ZX2 killer. Win or lose, this car will make you lose.

Get back to the 240 thing. You were good with that car, and it matched your skill well. You can either sink money into a worthwhile car with worthwhile results (Drift, Autocross, decent daily car) or you can putz around with this schiessewagen Mirage for years and still have nothing to show for it. It's like a battered wife continually clinging to her drunken husband because "Someday, he'll get better"

It won't get better. Bail out now, pilot !

Who fucking cares what people build up, the important thing is that HE is happy with HIS car.

Criticism.

:)

Seriously, Noah is more correcting than criticizing. And my Civic gets 370-420 miles out of a 10 gallon tank. Do that math.

Better yet, the MR2 gets 320 miles from a 8.7 gallon tank. Neither are running 80 hp either.

Helpful hints that don't involve getting rid of the car: Stop modifying it and use it as a daily while you build a speed demon project.
