"pulses" coming from intake

Ive just noticed this; but when i left the car running and had the hood open, i can feel/hear pulsation in the intake. its not like a faint pulsation either; you can definantly feel the airbox/intake vibrating. anyone know what this is?

Maybe it's the engine ingesting air in pulses like it's supposed to?

yea but this isnt fast pulses; its like a 1-2pulses per second@ 1000rpm.

Maybe a cylinder is misfiring?

maybe; but wouldnt that throw a check engine light? It misfired once before; and a check engine light came on when it did.

if its a bad coil, i'm pretty sure they won't throw the CEL
