question about block

    well i have a b16a2 now with about 50k on it it runs strong no smoke
    but i want to turbo my question is is it worth the money to buy a ls long block and go lsvtec or just turbo the b16?
    my first turbo build so i am sure i will ack more but just this for now

    How much money do you want to spend?

    How much power do you really want?

    What's your answer to question number one?

    Just turbo the B16. You're not going to get that much more power on boost with stock internals by throwing an LS block under the head. The B16 will rev higher, so you'll get proportionately more power per pound of boost pressure than you would on an LS block with stock internals that didn't rev as high. If I were in your shoes and going to convert to LS/VTEC for boost, I would build the whole block up for big power. If you're not intending to build the LS block but still want to spend the cash converting to LS/VTEC and then boosting, you would be better served spending the cash on forged pistons and rods instead.

    well i want to build the ls later but i was thinking about building the kit and put it on the b16 then build the ls bottom end
    also once i go lsvtec can i put the head back on a b16??

    Yeah, you can still put the head back on the B16.

    Yeah, you can. My B16 head went from my B20 block to a GSR block.
