Was thinking about signing up for their Plus membership. Integra is getting older and everyone I talk to who has it, says they love it.

Here is a question though. I believe the website says something about not towing vehicles bought in inoperable condition. Is this true? I know they contract out most of their work. Do the contractors care? I know a good majority don't count miles like they're suppose to. Anyone ever done this or know if they will do it? That would be the ultimate selling point to me.

From my experience, contractors dont give a f**k as long as someone has a AAA card and they can bill AAA.

Ive had it where my friend used my card when I wasnt there because is car died and I was at work. No ID, just handed the tow truck my AAA card. In addition, Ive used AAA to tow my no-op Integra to the junkyard to get paid.

So I guess to sum it up, AAA says no, but its really up to the tow truck. From what Ive experience, they just slide the card onto those old ass credit card carbon paper, you sign and they tow. I think the distance is limited to 10 miles? After that its your turn to foot the bill.

the vehicle has to have a plate on it... other than that its up to you and your talents for bullshitting people
you only need to get past the AAA dispatcher
once the tow driver shows up you are all set... worst case scenario you may need to slide a $20 his way
ive never had one tell me they wouldnt tow the car... and ive called them for some CLEARLY not running cars

and AAA Plus covers you for tows up to 100 miles (ive used all 100 of it before :) )

+1 .... Alot of my friends were tow truck drivers and all they want is that card! Lying to dispatch is true I just bought a 65 suburban that hadn't been registered in 6 year. Had to tell them it was or they wouldn't tow it. Then even I got the car home the driver ask how much I bought it for because I told dispatch it broke down on me but I drove it to the flatbed.

If you are worried about inop cars make sure you drag it out of their woods first and make sure it has a plate on it.

Just has a plate on it? Or actually registered?

Honestly I've thought about just saying the Integra broke down, then when they get there, say "There must have been some mistake, this is the car I need to get towed".

doesnt matter if its registered (obviously you tell the dispatcher that it IS a registered car and it needs to be towed and give them the plate number... they dont check it against anything though)

ive plated cars with missing body panels and no engine in them and had them picked out of back yards before

the drivers dont care... you just need to get past the dispatcher

Easy enough. Bait and switch seems even easier though, haha. Think the drivers would care?

drivers don't work for AAA... they are local wreckers just looking to make a quick buck off the referral. As long as its not reiculous and can be towed and has a plate on it, most drivers won't have an issue loading it up.
if it doesn't have wheels, you may have issues.

Yup. Guy pulled up and first words out of his mouth were, "I gotta see the registration and insurance for it."
