Can I put a DC2 Integra Type R B18C5 Engine, in my 01 prelude its automatic, and if so what mods are needed? Or if theres a better engine to use but I heard good thing about the B18.

Any advice is welcome and appreciated.

Why would you do that in the first place? If you took that same 5k, you could swap your prelude to a manual, and have a half decent turbo setup.

To be perfectly honest, this is a stupid idea. Yeah the B18C5 is a nice engine, but part of the reason it's so good in the Integra chassis is because the Integra is a smaller, lighter car. The B18C5 is smaller displacement and has less horsepower and torque than the engine that's already in your car. Your Prelude is heavier than an Integra, it needs all the torque it can get.

Also, the B18C5 will require custom mounts, which will be expensive. It won't bolt up to the stock mounts, and since nobody swaps B-series motors into Accords or Preludes because of the torque issue, nobody makes mounts for it, so it would have to be completely custom.

Your Prelude's automatic transmission will not bolt up to a B18C5 motor. You'd either have to convert to manual or find an automatic B-series transmission. And to be perfectly honest, if you want an automatic B18C5 then you don't need to even be thinking about buying a B18C5. The short-geared LSD-equipped 5-speed transmission is one of the things that makes the C5 a great motor to have in a Civic or Integra. Hooking it up to an automatic would bog it down.

Since you have an 01 Prelude you already have an H22. That's pretty much the best motor choice for your car. Like Phyregod said, I would take your money and invest it in swapping to a manual transmission and then building your motor/turbo/supercharger, whatever.

thats a very expensive method. worry about your final engine plans before you start spending money on something you are going to change out anyways.
