Rebuild h22a or buy a new one

I have a civic hatchback that has a blown jdm h22a in it. i was told it threw a rod. Should i rebuild it or should i just buy a new jdm h22a long block. i would like to spend about 3 grand either way. not sure what's the best route.
 
i would pic up a new block and the internals u need to replace, and use what you already have to complete the rebuild. but thats just me.
 
I thought about it. but i also thought about building the motor that's blown. i want to make more power out of it.
 
really depends on how much damage you caused when you blew the motor , this is a question of disassembly and inspection, no easy answer for your qeustion really , but a used jdm motor is still used and you can never be sure of its condition
