Recommendation swap 94 Del Sol Si

I want to swap out my D16Z6. Should I get the B16a3 from a 94-95 Del Sol VTEC, or should I get the B16a SiR II. The JDM B16a SiR II seems to be easier to get from hmotorsonline.com, but would I be able to BAR a JDM engine in California?

Why dont you just build the motor you have now. For what you would spend on a b16 you could get a lot done and have a pretty fun car.

Nah, I just want a little more power for my daily driver, and the swap would be just right.

I'm thinking about getting the JDM B16 since it's easily available; the USMD B16a3's are hard to find. But is it possible to use the JDM P30 ECU that comes with the B16 SIR II from hmotorsonline.com for it to be bard?

im not an expert on cali laws, but i dont see why the jdm motor and ecu wouldnt pass. someone on here knows the answer for sure, hopefully they will chime in.
