The JDM F22B and H23A1 are both DOHC non-VTEC motors. The pricing and difficulty would be roughly the same. Power out put would also be damn close.
Given the choice, I'd get the cheapest of the two. I like my H22A though.
BTW, all F and H series motors bolt up. Once you step up to any DOHC engine, you'd have to modify your harness, get the right ECU, change your exhaust, fiddle with your accessories, etc. It can all be done, but there's no "easy swap" where nothing has to be changed unless you keep your F22A1.
