I've can't get rid of a WildTangent icon listed in my control panel.

I've removed everything that came up under wildtangent using regedit
but I can't get it out of my control panel.

Does wildtangent go by any other names?

any ideas?

have you tried using a spyware remover to remove it? i had it one time and removed it from the add/remove program thingy.

You get wild Tangent from aol or aim... WHen you updated your aim account or first downloaded it you can chosse to download it or not. And i guess you choose to. I would uninstall aim completely and install a new copy of it. That may work. Or use this link homie... step by step instructions   cLIcKy or try this link also right hurr

edit : dont know how good they are but i guess they will work... if not try my idea :D

I didnt get it from AIM however wildtangent tends to try and install its self with almost every internet program. a lot of the time you can't click no you HAVE to click the X.

I love when programs don't offer an uninstaller and make it sound as if they do something good for you.

I've had it removed since the day I got that crap installed however that one icon is still there.

ya its been 5 mounth since i last blew it all away and looks like i need to do it again i have 10 or so trojan programs (porn is bad kids)

stop using IE. wildtangent and things of the sort are activeX-ily installed in the background. mozilla/firefox do not support such madness.

aim also has it when you install it. make sure you UNCHECK THE BOX. ALWAYS select the CUSTOM install whenever possible.
