Replacement O2 sensor looks a bit different

I am replacing the O2 sensor for the first time in my 1995 Civic EX's
life. The replacement sensor differs from the original in two ways.
First, the length of wire from the clip fitting to the connection fitting is two inches longer and second the "nose" end only has holes on its tip rather than along the full length of the original "nose's" length.

Is this a better redesign or shall I look further for an exact replacement?
