Replacing Cluster

I'm replacing the instrument cluster in my 99 Accord V6 with the digital odometer. Will the new cluster read my old mileage from my ECU or does each cluster come with a chip that stores the mileage?

hmm, good question.. not real sure.. since its a digital readout, i'd assume that it would..

Anyone else done this before? How about with the newer Civics with digital odometers, any comments on how they operate with respect to the odometer.
