Replacing spark plug wires

ok there were no sparg plug wires for me to go off of when i got it but i was wondering if there was a technical side for the spark plug wires for the fireing order in which one goes where. I understand the shortest one goes the the spark plug closest to the distrib but what plug do i put the other ends on? Thanks

#1 cylinder - furthest from distributor
#4 - closest (shortest wire)
