What are the pros and cons of removing the rev limiter to your vehicle? Will it necessarily raise your top speed? Has anyone here done it to their car before?

Pros of removing rev limiter without changing anything else:

Cons: Much easier to overrev and kill your engine

Basically if you don't have a head setup that needs the extra revs, don't bother.

speed limiter? or rev limiter?

the rev limiter can only be removed by ecu tuning . . . i have followed honda schematics and can not find a way to fool the ecu or disconnect the rev limit activation

the rev limiter is your friend
the speed limiter as far as i know can only be removed with a reprogramed ECU

I removed the speed limiter on mine and raised the rev limiter to 8500. I wish I hadn't. Now when I dump the clutch and burn out it tachs at 8500 instead of 7500. I have not done head work so I don't like to take it over 7500. Not having a speed limiter is cool tho...
