need some help on this reverse light situation now the car is a 92 civic sedan mt, however for some reason the reverse light stays on no matter what gear its shifted into please some have an EASY solution to this lol

your back-up light switch probably shit itself

it is screwed into the transmission and there is a yellow wire and a green/black wire going to it

will cost you about $30 for a new one

well it looks to have been changed already not sure how long ago but the cables are both green and im guessing its the thing screwed into the tranny right in front of the starter, if it were just changed recently would there be a reason for it to go out again so soon? ... sorry for all the ??s civics are new to me im used to my old f22a accord lol

if you have a multimeter you can test the switch

see if the circuit remains closed when the car is not in reverse

if it does then the switch is shot

if it doesnt then you have a short in the wiring somewhere... and then you get to have fun chasing down electrical gremlins
