That's probably why he stepped down. Got the news, wanted to take care of business before it hit the fan and everybody freaked the hell out.

that sucks. dont care for apple, but too young.
at least he lived a hell of a life.

in other news, i give it 5 years before the company starts going to crap.
i would be certain that jobs left them with enough ideas locked up to keep it going for a while, but not too much longer.

this guy was a tyrant, scrooge, thief and liar, but without him we'd have ugly-stick mp3 players, prehistorically slow smartphones and laptops designed by Vtech.

When Obama said he was going to take care of jobs, I didn't think he would take it this far

Took Honda about 15 years to do so after Mr. Honda died.

thats not the only point, depending on when he died, the speed of new technology has changed in the last 15 years.

he died in 91, to stock pile the same amount of ideas and input today that he probably did back then would only last about 5 years before they are way out dated.

This. If old man Honda died in 91, it can be assumed that he was present for development of the EG, 2nd gen 'ludes, and maybe some of 5th gen Accords and DC's. All of these had a long run, then new ideas started to trickle in with the EK, next thing you know Civics are bigger than 6th gen Accords, reaching fuel efficiencies with also similar statistics to older, bigger models. Technology's life isn't a 3 year run of the same shit. Car generations can run for years. If new computer technology wasn't developed for years, the company would tank. Therefore, Jobs' ideals are going to be flushed out sooner than Honda's were, and therefore, it will take apple significantly less time to tank than it did for Honda. Then again, Apple knows how to market...
