I just got my 2000 Civic EX Coupe back from my ex- after finalizing divorce, only to find she didn't take care of maintenance properly and rod bearings are beginning to rattle due to suspected oil-starvation. The engine only has 56,000 miles, and otherwise runs very well.
Question is: does anyone know if it's possible to drop the pan, remove the plugs and replace the rod bearings from below without removing the head? I want to do this fix as quickly as possible to get mobile again.
