 This guy lives fairly close to me and had a few pages dedicated to him in the new TN magazine. Gotta give a guy credit who does so much to preserve what's left of the Christmas spirit. I give him a  for the ride! I even heard some kids around him are getting together to add a C.A.I and some other misc. stuff to his ride in order to allow him faster delivery times :p .

Well, there's sort of a long story about rank, but here is my history. I went in as an E-2, got fast tracked in basic and made E-3 (PFC), made team leader, then squad leader. Went to Airborne school, made team leader. Went straight to Ranger school, got an injury and washed out. Went to the 82nd Airborne, made team leader. Went to Air Assault School and passed. Came back to the 82nd, joined 82nd boxing and Tae Kwon Do teams. When that was over, I applied back to Ranger school. During the wait, I made E-4 Specialist. Went back to Ranger school, got into a fight with roomate, shoved head in toilet, went straight down to E-2. Passed Ranger school and got tabbed. Went back to the 82nd and straight to Panama (Jungle School). Came back to the 82nd and stayed around awhile. Made rank back to E-4 P and then on to E-5 buck Sgt. Went to Haiti, hated it. Came back to the 82nd, got caught at the women's college and missed a duty assignment. Went back to E-4. Went to Sniper school and passed. Came back to the 82nd and tried for Special Forces 3 times! Failing the forced march each time. Finally gave up on SF and went to Jump Master school, then straight to EIB (Expert Infantry Badge), passed both. I left the 82nd with the rank of E-4 Specialist.

 Good times maang, good times! I know it sounds messed up, but I wouldn't change a single thing!

Not to be so nosey, but what is your pay as E4? It's for a project in school and need to know monthly income.

Hell, I could care less. You know you can ask me anything maang. I had to go dig out some of my old pay stubs  . Anyways, as an E-4 I made $1,007 a month. I didn't get any housing allowance or other benifits, so that was my base pay. It doesn't sound like much, but when your clothes, food and room is payed for, that's actually quite a bit of jack.

How much extra is combat pay?

Pay is based on rank and not anything else correct. Reason Im asking this is becuase I am going into the MArines as an E3, I guess PFC? Anyhow in 5 years where is the average service man ranked? Like E6 or wuteva'?
