ok I work for the school district in NJ, and today the one thing you would think that would never happen happened! a student came to school today with a gun! and he was out for a teacher. he is a bad kid that didn't want to do anything he was lazy and just didn't want to do any work. he was going fail and have to go to summer school because of this one teacher. So today he came in with a gun and the rumor is he was out for that teacher and some students. we went in to lock down. all the students where under the desk hidding. I was a nervous wreck! i am a PC tech for the school district and i just happened to be at this school today when this goes down. I was scared when we had to lock the doors and put black covers on the doors and get under the table. someone on the loud speaker said "this is not a drill, full lock down" it lasted about 45 mins. we had state troopers come in Heli's and with machine guns. it was not cool at all. the got the kid within 10 mins from when the idle treat hit. from what we where told no one knows if he had a gun on him, they will not release that until later. but they took him away in cuffs and took him downtown. All i can say is i was scared and it was very scary just thinking about what happened at VT. according to one student that was talking to me, the kid had the gun and he had 5 bullets left. so that makes me even more worried. all i could think of was "what can make a kid want to do something like this" i will keep you guys updated as to what happened and whats going to happen!

when i was in high school, people came to school with hunting rifles in the rear window. did anybody ever get shot? nope. damn, times really have changed.

then about 5 years after that, some kids came to school with a 9mm to kill a girls ex-bf.

fuck kids are retarded these days.

Agreed. I graduated high school 3 years ago and at that point our school had a big violence problem (multiple fights a day), but shit at least we used our fists.

Guns are so final. And the fact that the kids even get their hands on guns in a k-8 presents a huge issue by itself. That's definitely a parental problem.

And a responsibility problem on the parents end. Anyone who is stupid enough to leave a handgun within the easy reach of a child that young doesn't deserve to own guns. Shit, I own guns and I have a K-8 brother and there is no way in hell he can get to them without a cutting torch or plasma cutter. The parents obviously know the kid is trouble and they still store weapons where he has access to them? WTF.

Gotta look at the root cause for all this ie the parents, and the kid should have to pay for the crime right along with them. "the family that works on the chaingang together stays together"

well this is a kick in the ass! they let the kid go! they "didn't have enough proof that he had the gun on his person"! the gun didn't have his prints on it nor was it registered to his family. now you would think ok they would beat his ass or something. nope he is outside on his skateboard doing oles in the parking lot! and now they have to decide if he can come back to school being since he verbally said he was going to do it! that is just down right scary!
