shift light problems

hey guys bought a raptor shift light, its grounded, and powered right but for some reason when i rev it it bounces of a rev limiter at like six grand. its a zc dohc the light signal is ran of the blue wire off the dizzy which is the negative wire i believe what could it be? is the black and yellow wire the negative? anything else anyone can think of? any help appreciated.

green is for tach
red is ignition
white is illumination
black for ground

check for proper connection and wire that were spliced are insulated to eliminate resistances or shorts
