I was recently told by my local shop that the shift linkage on a dohc is wider than the sohc. When I had my Skunk2 short shifter in with the sohc everything was fine. Now they tell me I can't use the Skunk2 with the changeover to dohc beacause it's wider and that I will need "spacers". Has anyone heard of this? Where do I get these mysterious, elusive SPACERS? Or what size should I look for?
What I don't understand is that the Skunk2 short shifter for the sohc civic and the dohc integra have the same model #. They also told me that it should have come with these spacers. Of course it didn't though. I just want to use my short shifter again with the ES bushings. Can ne help me?
