shift linkage

91 civic hatch how do you get that stupid pin out of the linkage where it goes to the trans? and if a ever get it out can i just replace it with a nut and bolt or something?

Pull the engine with the SL attached and then remove it, thats how I did it...otherwise just pound the shit out of it with a 8mm punch until it comes out.

Hmm, mine came out no problems, I just used a 8mm punch, like he said.

Once the pin is out, it goes back in relitivly easy, even with a brand new pin. I would not use a bolt because if the bolt has ANY slack in it, it can interfeir with shifting.


At least with Integra's and Del sol's, you can remove the engine without taking off that part of the shift linkage, just do every other point (if your pulling the engine of course). It's much easier to do out of the car

i pulled the pathetic d15 the other day i just cut the linkage
i just need the pin out of it cuz the linkage i got w/ the swap doesnt have it
