so the dog has to be under 25lbs, I'm thinking a Jack is the only thing I can tolerate.

    Here's the situation

    900sq ft 2 bdrm apartment

    Leather furniture

single guy, active lifestyle, can take the dog jogging if energy is a problem.

I'd be taking him to obedience school, it's a must and I haven't had a dog in forever. Again I can only get a small dog so no "get a rotty" comments

    should I do it?

i voted no...just cuz i know how energetic they are...and it would take more than a jog to slow them down...lol...but its all up to how much time you can spend with it as well...so on the energetic part of the decision...thats all up to you...

No. Terriers need a lot of room to run. You'd need to dedicate your life to taking it out to run around. Get a Bulldog. Lazy. Or look into Carlin Pinschers. That's the dog I'm going to get. Mini rottweiler and not as energetic as the terrier counterparts. :)

theres always the option of a chiuaua...sure they yap at a lot of things...but other than that...they make for good shoulder dogs...lol...(my fiance's dad has one...she loves sitting on me shoulder...lol)

yorkies are good dogs as well...and they dont shed either...so if shedding will effect your decision...yorkies are a good choice

    fuck jack russells
    those dogs suck
high energy is one thing... i have an english cocker spaniel that has endless energy... the dog can play and run around for HOURS without getting tired... and even when she does get tired shes recharged in 30 minutes.... but shes not bouncing around like a fucking superball on crack all the time barking and shit
jack russells are not high energy they are fucking hyper... my moms friend has 2 of them... the fuckers never shut the hell up... they are always jumping around... they are more annoying than a fucking chihuahua... my moms friend has gone through obedience classes with both dogs and they still suck... i had to watch those 2 little fuckers for a few hours one day and i wanted to throw both of those annoying little fuckers out into traffic

if you want/need a small dog get a corgie
dennis (CRXYEM) has 2 of them and they are the coolest small dogs i have ever seen
they have the disposition of a larger dog... they are laid back and quiet... but still down to play
as far as small dogs go they are the only one i would consider

Yeah. don't get a chick dog.

Jack Russells run for ever and jump all over your shit when you're trying to relax. Personally I'd get an english bull dog.

JR's are also like that crazy bitch you brought home drunk from the bar one night
one second they love you, then they're trying to rip your face off, then they're blowing you and crying about how their friends don't like them...

i'd laser bowl that fucker right in front of a semi

hey, shihtzu's are fun. my g/f has one that just loves people, and he's energetic, but dumber than a brick. I think the only reason it learned to pee outside was cause the dacshund (however you spell it) probably gave him the idea. I have seen some litter trained.

I have a liking for Austrailian Shepherds and Shelties. You'd have to spend a lot of time outside with them, but they'd be loyal and they're smarter than shit. They'd keep you active too, and i know it's helped me having to walk mine 2 or 3 times a day, and then play frisbee the rest of the day. my aussie figured out how to fetch AND catch a frisbee before she was 4 months old.

the only problem though, like i said is that of getting it out to get rid of some energy.

has anyone heard of a giant hampster wheel for dogs?

I will attest to the intelligence and loyalty and personality of Aussies and Shelties.
