This is a stupid question and I am assuming I need to drop the tank, but just thought I would see if there is an access panel anywhere. 1990 hatch.

I beleive you can only change this by dropping the tank in an EF (88-91) civic

On 88-91 Civics and CRX's, the fuel pump is located at the rear of the fuel tank. The only thing you have access to from inside the car is the fuel level sensor. You have to drop the tank to get to the fuel pump...there's no other way around it.

    Thanks!

When does the fuel gauge read how much is in there? I thought I had a close to full tank but when I put the key to run, the gauge doesn't move.

My bad, wiggled the connector on the fuel gauge sending unit and it works.
