I hate you.

j/p good deal, I would have jumped on that like a rophed out prom queen.

I'd plan on swapping in new rings while you're at it. The rings on the type r motors wear faster than most due to the high piston speeds at redline, and the way people tend to treat those motors. The swap in my car has well under 75k on it and it's out of the car right now for rings.

good to know.

I guess i'll check he rings once I open it up.
I've got an estimated $500 so I'll figured I'd the gasket kit first and concentrate on the bottom half.

after that I'll work on the Arp stuff and headgasket.
anyone has any experience with '1 layer' HG such as Toda and other brands?
wann see if I can squeeze a little more compression run bigger cams.

Nice grab man.

That's one of my dream all motor cars. b18c5 in a crx. Light car. All motor. So much fun.

me too. Once I got this I figured I'd step it up and Go with K20 type R.
the cost is still too high for me.......annnnnd the fact that the swap is no longer rare.

Thanks to Jeffie and others I realized for a quick DD 220whp-230whp ish should be plenty fun on the skreets.
This swap with some extra's should be capable of getting close.

Not looking for drag races or autocross. Just quick spirited driving. :driver:

so my friend just texted me back,

motor has less than 2k since it has had new gaskets and seals.
All OEM belts, gaskets and the head looks great.

Great for me since it saves me money and alot of time on parts.
Now I can concentrate on the other important stuff to get it running. :)

I would just drop it in and go.

I've used the Spoon 2 layer gasket before; no issues. Used CTR cams only though.

RIGHT ON. That will be sick man. I want tons of progress pics soon.

yeah I will. I got the CRX getting ready.
The motor is still laying dormant and I have to get the hearder freshened up. someone tried to reweld the ports and weld a brace on the bottom for support.

looks like garbage so I'm gonna have a pro tig weld it and then possibly send it off for chrome or powder coat.

Engine bay is the first thing to fix
