does anyone know what kind of hp gains im looking at if i get the Skunk 2 Pro Series intake manifold and slap it on my GS-R? is it worth the $229? does this eliminate the dual-stage intake? don't know too much about these so i was just wondering...thanks in advance!

yes, it eliminates the secondary butterflies.. you wont notice much of a difference without cams or any other head work

I have a skunk2 proseries intake. I don't really know what to tell you, though, I put it on when I did my swap...so I never really had anything to compare it to.

The gsr's (P72) vtec crossover is at 4500 rpm's, compared to a b16/b18c-r at 5500+. I believe that this is done in order to take advantage of the different air flow charictaristics of the GSR's dual runner design. I'm thinking it may be wise to swap over to another b series ecu (P28), in order to have a higher vtec crossover at the 5500+ rpm range in order to match the single runner design of the skunk2 manifold.

Please tell me if i'm wrong^_^

    ok, you're wrong

p28 isnt a b-series ecu.. it depends on what year his car is and if he wants to convert to obd1 if its obd2.. then he could run a chipped p28 or a JDM p30..

I thought p28's came with a d16z6 or Sohc vtecs. Chipping would be an option, but why not just get the p30 like EG6Sir said...probably come out cheaper than way in the long run.

just installed mine. feels fuckin great good pwer gain on the butt dyno. its a pain in the ass if you follow the instructions they give you. you have to use diff hoses. for this intake though i give a big thumbs up

suhweeet...right now i'm in the process of turboing my teg...i've got pretty much everything i need but i was wondering if i should get the skunk2 mani. BEFORE i boost it or if i should just get the car boosted and tuned and then the mani. when i stumble upon $229...whatchu think? i mean i guess it would be pointless to get it tuned w/o everything on my engine??
