Slow shifts, slipping trans

So my winter beater an automatic 1991 chevy cavalier staion wagon started acting up on my last roadtrip.
It is slipping out of gear and slow to shift, i talked to my mom about it ( it was her car in the past) and she told me that the trans was rebuilt about 2 years ago so it should be in good working order, this lead me to think it was low on transmisison fluid, thoughts?

low tranny fluid sounds about right, unless the shop that rebuilt it did a piss poor job..
